I have a Volvo Penta 2000 marine engine, three cylinder. Is it OK to use synthetic engine oil, 10/40w?
Originally, back in the day, the 2000 series used straight 30 weight which is what I would
probably use. Volvo Penta no longer supplies a 30 weight so they recommend you use
a 15/40W oil from them. This is a non-synthetic oil.
Key aspect is not to mix synthetic with non-synthetic oil.
