Looking for volvo DP-SM outdrive, is DP-S the same?

The DP-S was an earlier version of the DPS-M.
The DP-S was 1995 to mid 1997 or so.
The DPS-M was from 1998 forward.
You can, with some slight adaptions, use these interchangeably but they
are not exactly the same.
