MS4A Sliding Sleeve Replacement Question

Hello:

Attached is the quote for the sliding sleeve for your MS4A. You will note that I included a whole bunch of shims.  These shims are needed when you  put the gear back together to make sure you have the proper rolling torque.  You will probably only need to use three or four of these shims, but there is no way to know which thicknesses you will need.  So I gave you two of all of them.  The ones you don't need you can send back to us for a full credit.  Please, keep them in their original bags so we can ID which is which and give you full credit.

When replacing your sleeve you will have to replace the dog (clutch) which I included in the quote. You will also have to replace the needle bearings (now they are just bearings) so I included these as well.

And finally, I included a gasket kit which includes all the gaskets and seals you will need to re-assemble the gear.

I have also included a shop manual (don't tell Volvo Penta I gave it to you) which shows how to rebuild these transmissions.  If you read over the manual once or twice you should be able to do the rebuild.  Just take
your time as the rolling torque is not difficult just frustrating.

If you decide you don't want to do the work, you can always send us the gear and we will rebuild it for you.  We would have to see the gear, but rebuilds of the MS4 gears usually range between $1,800 to $3,200.

Thank you.
